Double Fish Buttons

From NearSeaNaturals, click for the story of how lovely they are.  A little digging around on the internets turned up this on a Nepalese and Tibetan Arts blog:

The golden fish symbolizes happiness the auspiciousness of all living beings in a state of fearlessness, without danger of drowning in the ocean of sufferings, and migrating from place to place freely and spontaneously, just as fish swim freely without fear through water.”

I like that.  They would make smashing coat buttons.

  1. Yes, for my coat. Husband told me he tea-dyed some chicken bones as a child for a science talk on fossils and offered to tea-dye these buttons. We also tossed around the idea of painting them with model paint.

Is it kind, useful or interesting? Great!
